The second of our 24-hour editorial briefs was probably the hardest one for me, as it required me to portray my own opinion on the article ‘Abundance Without Attachment‘ for a newspaper. Because of the nature of the brief, I took more time to thoroughly read and understand the message of the article in order to make an informed opinion on the topic.
The angle I chose to show was the concept that people often use monetary possessions as the basis of fond memories to cherish, instead of experiences with friends and family.
I used fineliner, (for the first time in a long time), to make the shapes quickly with a rough composition idea in mind.
After scanning, I simply separated each shape I wanted and duplicated and coloured in with lots of different layers. I think I could have done a better job of the final outcome with more time, but I’m happy with how it looks in general.
