Artist Research – Noel Badges Pugh

Though we’re currently on a fineliner ban, it was impossible for me to not look into one of my favourite artist’s work – drawings by Noel Badges Pugh. With a strong social media following, especially from his Tumblr page, Pugh is well known for his delicate fineliner pen drawings and watercolour paintings of flowers, shells and buildings amongst other things, and has always been a big inspiration to me.

In this instance I looked further into his less commonly known compositions working with landscapes and buildings, as he has a great eye for colour combinations and alternative framing of images.

He also has some really nice close up observational drawings of houses in colourful tones.

Finally, I came across some studies of the sea, which evoke a really nice sense of movement and energy.
